Dance and Drama Awards (DaDA)

The Dance and Drama Awards site is designed for learning providers and advice and guidance services to keep you informed about the DaDA scheme.

Since 1997 scholarships from the scheme have been helping some of our brightest young acters, dancers and stage managers develop their talents at some of the county's leading independent dance and drama schools.

The scholarships are available to students studing for Trinity College London qualifications and offer greatly reduced tuition fees and income assessed support with living and learning costs. They are offered to learners by the schools on the basis of talent demonstrated at audition, rather than financial circumstances.

Advice on audition procedures for providers and students

An auditions code of practice, Auditioning and Interviewing for Dance and Drama Courses, has been developed for the Awards by the Council for Dance Education and Training and the National Council for Drama Training. The two councils have also produced: An Applicant's Guide to Auditioning and Interviewing at Dance and Drama Schools. This booklet advises students on the audition process, what will be expected of them at audition/interview and other useful advice on what to wear, what to bring etc. Both of these publications are available at the councils’ websites: www.cdet.org.uk and www.ncdt.co.uk.
